Corey's Corner - End of the Road

What up readers, it's ya boi, back and better than ever. Readers before you embark on this magical journey of reading my blog, do me a huge favor. Grab your favorite warm drink, get snuggled up in your favorite pajamas and if you can, get really cozy next to a fireplace. Readers this blog is about to get emotional and I want you all to be ready for this.

"Although we've come to the End Of The Road, still I can't let you go."

You all may recognize this sentence from the song "end of the road" by Boyz 2 Men.

Yes, the same Boyz 2 Men who sang the national anthem at the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl while the jets soared above them. What a beautiful sight that was.

I felt that these lyrics are appropriate for a time like this.

For everyone besides 3 really lucky people and Matt, your season has come to an end. You are no longer battling for the championship trophy that we all so desperately wanted, you are now battling for the don't get last spot.

The 6 people who have missed out on the playoffs you have come to the road.

Now comes the time to say goodbye to your players.

"Its unnatural, you belong to me"

That may be how some of you feel right now. Matthew Staff you are my boy and its just unnatural to let you go.

I guess that old saying of all good things must come to an end, is true.

Readers, take a moment and look back on the season. Remember jumping off the couch when your superstar caught a td. Remember it all. Lets say our final goodbyes.

Cheryl you must say goodbye to Kaep Happy as next year you may not have a chance to draft him.

Sean you must say goodbye to MJD because I know for a fact you wouldn't even use a 10th round draft pick next year to get him

William you must say goodbye to the most feared wr corps in the league, maybe one day those two will reunite again.

Bobby B you must say goodbye to the San Fran D, they have been a staple of your identify for the past two years but who knows if you will draft them again next year.

Curtis you must say goodbye to Julio Jones who tore his ACL two months ago but somehow he is still on your team.

Finally to the most beloved GM in this league and hands down the most innovative and brilliant man you all have ever seen.

Corey you must say goodbye to a team that has caused you so much pain during the season but also a team that almost pulled off the biggest comeback the world has ever seen.

Goodbye Matthew
Goodbye Knowshon
Goodbye Alfred
Goodbye Vincent

I will always love you guys but I don't know if I can get you all next year. I wish nothing but the best for you all and I will always take pride in knowing I was your GM for one season.

Also I must put another thing to rest right now as well. Goodbye Versace Versace. You gave me and the boys the song of the summer, you allowed Bobby B to create on the best joke of his life and you always brought a smile to my face.

For one last time,

Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace.

Members of this league also do me a big favor and send your commish Nick Brown a special thanks for running this league to perfection. Sure I have had a lot of disagreements with him but this man ran a solid league.

Thank you Nick.

Also special thanks to:
Shaggy's picks
Will Wednesdays
Lindy's latte

I enjoyed reading all of your blogs and think you all did a fantastic job this year. Next year I hope to see more innovation and more writers.

With that it's time to say my final goodbyes.

Goodbye 2013-2014 fantasy football season. I will cherish the memories.

Folks what a season we all had. It was a battle every week and I hope everyone had fun. The captains league was a blast and it will always remain one top class leagues fantasy football has ever seen.

With all that said I do have an announcement to make. At this time I would like to formally announce my resignation from The Captains League. I will be taking my talents to the Gonzaga Fantasy Football League. I wish everyone the best moving forward and best of luck to everyone in there future fantasy football careers.

The good news is that I have found a replacement to take over my spot and believe this new owner will do a fine job.

Ladies and gentleman, Christa Gordan will be a new league owner next year. Welcome her with open arms.

One last announcement, Christa will be taking over my weekly blog as well. Enjoy Christa's Corner.

For one last time,

Corey Hewett- is a Audit Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He enjoyed the season and hopes Matt wins it all this year.
